Backflow Preventer Installation Services
Backflow preventers are installed to prevent cross-contamination between water systems. You usually find them on a commercial building or on your irrigation system. Different county codes are requiring them on individual residential water supplies. The most common types of backflows are reduced pressure, double check, and pressure vacuum breaker (irrigation). We offer a complete backflow preventer installation service including backflow piping, pad, paint, and recertification.
Backflow prevention devices prevent your potable water from becoming contaminated by a cross connection. Our professional repairmen will first get the necessary building permits and confirm code requirements from your municipal government to avoid delays once we are on the job. We will then locate your water main and expose the line by digging a trench up to five feet long. Next, we'll determine what kind of installation you need, depending on your current water service. For cold weather installations, we have the option to winterize your backflow by installing insulation. Before filling in the trench and replacing the sod, we will perform a backflow certification to test the check valves and relief valve pressures to comply with code.
Backflow Certification
Backflows are required to be tested and certified annually with your local water authority. Not doing so can result in your water being turned off. Our complete certification process includes the backflow testing, installing a backflow testing tag, and sending the necessary certifications to the county.
Backflow Repair
If a backflow component fails during the testing process, your backflow may need to be cleaned or repaired. R.J. Kielty Plumbing, Air Conditioning & Electric's trained associates will make sure your backflow is repaired the most cost-effective and long-lasting way. Once the rebuild repair is completed we retest and certify the backflow.
